I’ve been seeing a lot of athletes lately, using smelling salts in a kind of casual way. Which is interesting, because I’ve always thought of smelling salts as a kind of medicinal item, and an antiquated one at that.
But they do seem to be making a comeback, and since I didn’t box as a youngster, or grow up in Victorian England, I’ve never experienced them – until now.
